HomeTiles v0.6.4

v0.6.4 improves long-term stability and responsiveness and adds configurable local hardware I/O.

Upgrade Order

  1. Update HomeTiles Bridge to v0.6.32 through HACS and restart Home Assistant.
  2. Update the display to HomeTiles v0.6.4.

Highlights

  • Faster folder navigation, Weather popups and tile restoration, including during long sessions.
  • Light brightness, color and Kelvin sliders reliably send the newest value and both endpoints while remaining rate-limited.
  • Separate screensaver brightness and more reliable idle handling, including open Camera popups.
  • New I/O tab for up to eight local switches, onboard relays or DS18B20 sensors. Local tiles work directly on the panel; Bridge v0.6.32 adds the entities to Home Assistant.
  • Faster web-admin loading and refresh behavior.
  • Improved ESP-Hosted RPC/SDIO recovery and diagnostics. The safe-restart fallback remains for unresolved upstream WiFi/C6 lockups.

Camera support on ESP32-P4 remains experimental. The Guition ESP32-4848S040 ESP32-S3 image also remains experimental and does not support Camera tiles.

Hardware-confirmed targets are M5Stack Tab5, Waveshare 4B/86 Panel/8-inch and Guition JC8012. Waveshare 7/10.1-inch, Guition JC1060 and Guition ESP32-S3 remain community-test images.

Use the regular .bin for OTA and _factory.bin only for the first USB flash or a complete reset.
